Client is urgently looking for Sr. Purchase Manager @ Mumbai
Qualification & Experience
* Minimum Graduate in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry
* A Post Graduate Diploma in Import / Export or Material Management or MBA would be of advantage
Experience: 15+ years (Major part of experience should be preferably in an Agro Chemicals Organization)
JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Purchasing Director of India, the Sourcing Specialist?s key responsibilities are:
* Development, integration and execution of Low Cost Country Sourcing (LCCS) for the categories of Raw Materials which support business strategies
* Act as dedicated Purchasing focal point for all Procurement related issues and initiatives in India
* Have resource fully trained to cope with the various upcoming major client's projects, to fully comply with segregation of duties and procurement Processes in the area.
* Create value for client by procuring products and services, such as External Manufacturing Contracts
* Facilitate the implementation of the Global and Area Strategies for the different Categories
* Actively seek LCCS alternative suppliers and develop the suppliers to comply with client's criteria and requirements in India
* Engage in detailed Market Research (via Supplier Directories, Data Mining, attendance at Conference / Exhibitions etc.)
* Aggressively pursue and create competitive purchase environment through constantly seeking alternative supply scenarios.
* Assist in the negotiation of commercial agreements for assigned products within the related Categories.
* Develop, establish and maintain business relationships with the suppliers.
* Define and develop appropriate cross functional relationships with the Businesses, ISC and other functions.
* Understand and Enforce governance and work process compliance with internal clients.
* Preferably proven commercial (purchasing, marketing / sales, customer service) experience in a multi-product and multi-cultural environments.
* Ability to work autonomously and at the same time to contribute strongly as a team player
* Proactive networking skills (with both internal and external SME?s)
* Recognized communication skills
* Natural and creative negotiation skills
* Gain Thorough knowledge of client's , its core values, objectives and relevant policies and procedures
* Preferred Business Objects and SAP experience
* Able to apply 6 sigma methodologies
Language requirements: English and Hindi
Travel requirements: Regional travel to strategic supply base as warranted.
